Corina Lozovan

PhD student in Political Science and International Relations at the Institute for Political Studies at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (IEP-UCP) and a researcher at the Research Centre of IEP-UCP (CIEP). She holds a master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Lund University and a postgraduate course in Strategic and Security Studies.

Her focus is on the Gulf region, where she spent a year as a visiting scholar at Sultan Qaboos University, in Muscat. At the moment, her areas of research in the project are the security and defense dimensions of technology, the impacts on democracy and the rise of authoritarianism in Europe and Asia.
